Overview
AIA One is an internal super-app that hosts employee engagement, training and programme modules. I drove UX at platform level and delivered new modules end to end — design, frontend, backend, QA/UAT and deployment — most notably the 2024 Risk & Compliance (R&C) Game.

Problem
Baseline usability work exposed a discoverability problem. The dashboard didn’t say what the app could do or which functions mattered most, and the top-level controls changed from screen to screen, which added cognitive load.
Onboarding was thin too. Some flows had no tutorial or scoring rules, which lowered confidence and compliance.
Approach
I logged the issues through a heuristic evaluation and journey mapping, then turned the findings into platform-wide rules for information hierarchy, consistent top navigation and early guidance.
We ran the R&C Game like a product inside the platform: design, backend, frontend pages (Entrance, Homepage, Leaderboard, Badge, Instruction pop-up, Quiz, Result, Streak), internal QA, UAT and deployment, with Jira keeping the cross-functional work visible.
Solution
We simplified the dashboard into a clearer information architecture, added persistent shortcuts and standardised top-bar behaviour.
The R&C Game became one continuous learning loop: guidance at the entry point, clear point mechanics, immediate feedback on quiz results, and badges, streaks and a leaderboard to keep people going. Required training felt goal-directed, not like one-off content.
Lessons
Treating AIA One as a modular platform rather than a set of pages paid off. Consistent patterns cut design debt, made small features easier to ship and kept later releases aligned.
Next time I’d set a platform navigation standard and a shared onboarding framework earlier, so every module inherits clarity by default instead of getting it as a last-minute fix.
